Does a UK company have to file a confirmation statement every year?
Yes. Section 853A of the Companies Act 2006 requires every company to deliver a confirmation statement to the registrar before the end of the period of 14 days after the end of each review period, and a review period is each period of 12 months beginning with the day after the previous one ended. It is an annual duty, not an optional filing.
